Experienced legal guidance. Compassionate counsel.
For more than 25 years, Attorney Angel Kusturiss has helped individuals and families navigate some of life's most consequential transitions. Her practice is grounded in the belief that effective legal representation should provide more than answers to legal questions. It should offer clarity, perspective, and a practical path forward.
Estate Planning & Estate Administration
Estate planning and estate administration often arise during emotionally significant times. Whether planning for the future, helping aging parents, or managing the estate of someone who has died, Attorney Kusturiss provides experienced legal guidance with compassion, clarity, and strength. She works closely with clients to create thoughtful estate plans designed to reflect their wishes, protect the people they care about, and make difficult decisions easier for their families. Following the death of a loved one, Attorney Kusturiss guides executors and families through the estate administration process, including probate, inheritance tax matters, creditor issues, asset administration, and distribution. Her goal is to make a process that can feel complicated and overwhelming understandable, organized, and manageable.
A Whole-Person Approach to Family Law
A divorce, custody dispute, or other family transition is rarely just a legal problem. The decisions made during a family law case can affect children, finances, relationships, living arrangements, and a client's future long after the legal case has ended. Attorney Kusturiss takes a holistic approach to family law, providing experienced legal representation while helping clients consider both the immediate legal issues and the practical, long-term consequences of their decisions. Her background and advanced training in mediation, collaborative law, and human behavior provide an additional perspective as she helps clients navigate conflict and major life transitions. While her role as an attorney is distinct from that of a counselor or therapist, this broader understanding informs the way she communicates with clients, approaches conflict, and helps clients evaluate their options. Clients receive clear legal advice and advocacy while being encouraged to consider important questions: What outcome will actually improve my life? What matters most for my children? Which issues require a firm legal response, and which conflicts may not be worth the emotional and financial cost? What do I want life to look like when this case is over? The goal is not simply to get through a family law case. It is to make informed decisions that position the client and family as well as possible for the life that comes after it. Attorney Kusturiss has been trained in family mediation since 2013 and is also trained in Collaborative Divorce and Custody. Depending upon the circumstances, clients may choose traditional representation, negotiation, mediation, or collaborative approaches to resolving family disputes.
Experience & Education
Attorney Kusturiss earned her B.A. in History, Literature, and French from Washington & Jefferson College in 1997, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2000 as a Dean's Scholar. Most recently, in 2024, she graduated from Waynesburg University with a Master's Degree in Counseling. Her professional involvement has included the Washington County Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Pennsylvania Council of Mediators, Mediation Council of Western Pennsylvania, and the Collaborative Legal Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
A Family Tradition of Service
Attorney Kusturiss continues a family legal tradition that began in 1951, when her grandfather, Michael Kusturiss Sr., founded M.E. Kusturiss & Associates in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Today, Kusturiss Law Firm carries that tradition forward with a personal approach to the practice of law: experienced legal counsel, individualized attention, and an understanding that behind every legal matter is a person making decisions that may shape the next chapter of their life.
